Gunsect is a twin-stick roguelite shooter where players battle through hordes of enemies using a modular weapon system to clear out a hive-ridden space station. With hundreds of gun combinations to choose from, the action is endless, and player choices dynamically impact gameplay.
As the final major project of my two-year Advanced Diploma at AIE Melbourne, I held the role of Lead Level Designer. However, like most group projects, I also wore other hats

Easy level
Shorter levels, with more opportunities for healing and getting used to the gameplay. Maneuverability around the enemies without objects in the pathway is a focus here.

Medium level
A similar designed layout with more opportunities to surprise the player with different enemies. Longer in play time broadly and begins to test the players abilities and use all gameplay mechanics.

hard level
Longer and higher variation in enemy design, introduced heavier hitting enemies, where the idea of bosses at the end of the level starts in preparation for the final level.
